Catch Up!

Ok so I realise that tomorrow has actually become the day after tomorrow but days just go so quickly! Last couple of weeks have been fairly unproductive sewing wise but lots of shopping has been done as an alternative! Couple of weeks ago I took a day trip on a fabric shop hunt! Started by going to this shop which is a lovely shop. I didn't buy anything here though in an effort to stop myself spending and acquiring more fabric I'll never get time to use! Next shop was Embsay Mills in skipton, one of the biggest fabric shops I've been to (not that I've been to many!). I was very nearly tempted by the Laura Gunn poppy fabric but I resisted and instead bought these little bits..

Next my amazon order came

Schnibbles Times Two

:) Loving this book so far but only had a flick through.

Then it was the Festival of Quilts in Birmingham! Never been before and didn't get around to see everything but had a good day anyway! Bought a couple of things..

Fandango LC

Love fandango fabric so was very pleased to find these!

Paper Pieces - Hexie templates

Paper hexies - my friend was horrified that I paid for pre cut hexies but to me the time saved is absoloutely worth it! I may actually attempt some hexies now!

And because the Rowan/Amy Butler stall was so gorgeous I couldn't resist these..

Amy Butler Frenchy Bag Supplies

Amy butler frenchy pattern with some fabric/interfacing to make it with. Chose this one because I've read online that some of the other Amy Butler patterns are a little more complicated so thought I'd start with something do-able!

So that has been my fabric-y spending spree!

Yesterday was spend trying to put together a Ikea swivally chair which I'm hoping will be more comfy that a wooden dining room chair to sit on for longer! I eventually managed it with a little help from some male muscles!(I'm such a weakling!)
Then I managed to slice my finger with my rotary cutter... blood everywhere YUCK! But I somehow managed to miss my fabric which I was quite impressed about! It was my own fault I should be more careful!

Tonight however I got started again being productive.. got out my pink squares which unfortunately weren't as far along as I remembered lol! So I've spent the evening pressing and trimming... who knew pressing could take so long?! Least now they are ready to be sewn together into a quilt top!
